Oddities
- only in Nunavut

Building in the Arctic has many challenges. It is cold and snowy. Bedrock and permafrost make foundations more difficult, and basements impossible. Insulation, and protection from the environment is important. Utilities are often provided by an above-ground "Utilidor", or water may be delivered and sewage collected by tankers. Building materials are all imported and expensive. Nevertheless, many interesting buildings have been created, and colour is used extensively.
