Expected to be able to lie in, but instead I was called at 7:30 for an appendicectomy. When I got to the hospital there was some confusion, as the kid was six years old and the consent form had not been filed out. There was much discussion with the older sister and the interpreter, and the mother was said to:

Eventually we decided the older sister was in fact the legal guardian and so she gave consent.

After the operation I went to the Anglican church for their English service. They also have two Inuktitut services, and next week they have an Inuit bishop arriving to do a confirmation ceremony.
