Saturday was cold, and I spent most of the day indoors working on various projects and watching a rental movie.

In the evening I went to a "Coffee House" concert at Inukshuk High School, next to the Frobisher. It was interesting to wander round theplace. Looked like most High Schools, but there were Inuit decorations and framed furs on the wall. There were maps of small High Arctic settlements, and old pictures of Inuit history.

The event was a fundraiser for the High School Band, and it raised $1,200, enough to send one band member to Halifax, Nova Scotia, for a competition. The band played, then there was a group doing Bob Dylan covers, then an excellent Inuit duo doing throat singing. They explained that this Inuit tradition is a type of competition; one singer starts, the other attempts to imitate and copy. When one competitor gives up and bursts out in laughter, the other has won. Finally a the "Blues Blizzards" played. Went for a drink in an apartment rented by one of the GPs in the large brown building next to the Frobisher, which was very pleasant. Hoped to see the Northern Lights on the way back home, but still no luck
