Flight Home

Wednesday 22nd October
Fly Air Canada SFO - YYZ
Depart 07:40, arrive 15:26

Not much to say, really. Got up fairly early, drove to the airport, handed in the rental car, and got the train to the departure area - or so I thought. The automated free train was very impressive, but it was still a long and confusing walk to the check in desk.

No problems with the flight. Customs wanted to check a present I had bought and declared, but otherwise everything was uneventful. Took a cab home and was back about 5 pm Toronto time.

Conclusions:
Wow! What a great trip! The weather was fantastic, just a few drops of rain on the last day. Otherwise mild, bright and sunny. I was in shorts and T shirt when outdoors at mid day, but needed warmer clothes in the morning and evening, and indoors. San Francisco was a nice city, with some great food. The trip over the bridge was neat.
Yosemite might be the most beautiful place I have ever been to, and I have seen a lot. Certainly it has incredibly good hiking, which can range from a 15 minute look around to a challenging multi-day backcountry trip.
It would have been nice to see the spring flowers, or the waterfalls in full spate, but there was the compensation of some little fall colour, and no crowds.
